Waking the Dead

You snoozed your alarm clock over and over till you realised you're late
You washed down your throat with Starbucks coffee hoping the caffeine will wake you up
You rushed from one meeting to another
By the time you're done with your work,
You have to clean or clear the chores in your house
by midnight, you dive into bed exhausted and drained out.
Is this a common scenario in your life everyday?

Before you even realise, you reached retirement and wondered what have you done with your life?
You have sleepwalked more than half of your life rushing from one thing to another
Your heart is left with no soul
You are breathing but you feel like a zombie

Have you ever stop and ponder about your heart?
Guard your heart well for from it springs the fountain of life
We often hear that but do we really guard and nourish our hearts
What are you doing today that will keep your heart alive
Or are you rushing so much and taking care of everything else but has forgotten your heart

John eldredge quoted that the glory of God is man fully alive
Wowwww
If we are truly living, we are radiating the glory of God
Can you imagine that?

Take a while
Meditate a while
Ponder a while
Listen a while
What is your heart telling you?

In his book Waking the Dead, John Eldredge has opened up the eyes of my heart
Making me stop think and respond to my heart
Helping me to unlock the mysteries of my heart
Burying the noises that are choking up my heart's life

Do you feel dead?
I recommend you to read Waking the Dead by John Eldredge.

God bless you and may you live life to the fullest!!

Historymaker - Kate

29 April
Today marks a day that makes history
The whole world is watching and anticipating
It is the first time a person with no royal blood is marrying the prince who is heir to the throne of England
Prince William is going to marry Kate Middleton, which makes her a princess from today onwards.

I pray God bless their marriage
Keep them safe at all times especially from the crazy media

I cannot imagine having people chasing you around, trying to take pictures of you everywhere you go.
Tremendous pressure is on her shoulders.
I am reminded of the late Princess Diana.
I'm sure she is smiling now.

Congratulations to you both!!

Tuesdays with Morrie

I saw it on the best seller's section everytime I enter a bookshop.
Somehow, I never bothered to pick it up and read.
A dear friend of mine passed it to me last week.
I finally started reading and could not stop.
Tuesdays with Morrie reminded me of my values and somehow taught me to look at life from a different perspective.
Morrie is one professor whom had lived his life to the full till his last breath.
I found myself tearing upon his final days as if his last words captivated through Mitch Albom's writings enabled me to be there as I poured myself into his book whilst the time has stopped.

I thought of all the teachers who had taught me and I thought of people who had taught me about life.
I am reminded of the good and bad seeds that they had sown in me and I am forever grateful for the good seeds.
How true it is that we can die at any moment and are we truly prepared for it?
Have we rushed life from one meeting to the next swarmed with endless tasks that we forget to soak in the beauty around us?

I learn so many things from this coach of Mitch Albom.
Life is short and if we want to learn how to live, we ought to learn how to die.
Imagine you have only 24 hours left..what would u do?
You would live differently would u not?
You would savor each moment for it is precious.

Each chapter presents words of his that I love.
These few are my favourites.

'Love each other or perish.'
Aren't you reminded of Jesus commandments to love one another as I have loved you?

"Forgive yourself and others"
This has got to be a reminder to me all the time.
It's hard to forgive others but sometimes it's even harder to forgive oneself.
We gotta learn to not be so harsh on ourselves.
We gotta forgive ourselves for the things we failed to do, failed to accomplish, failed to live up to other's expectations and the list goes on.

I think if it's my last day, I will wake up early, smile and praise God as I listen to the friendly birds chirping.
I would then make a great cup of coffee and have a wholesome breakfast with my family.
I'll probably go to church and spend some quiet times just enjoying the peace and serenity in there.
I will call up friends and loved ones just to leave some last words, hopefully filled with wisdom.
I would want to confess my sins and make peace with myself, God and others if I had not done so.
I would love the elders in the church to anoint me with oil like they did in the acts of the apostles.
Finally I want to take a walk at the lake watching sunset and soak in the fresh air.
I don't think I want to watch tv or care about who's winning the academy awards when I'm dying.
Would you?
I might write my last poem or do my last painting.
And I will give away everything I own. No use keeping it for myself.
I can't carry it to my graves.

Hmmm..then again, this is what I would like to do most days.
What about you? What do you find most meaningful in doing?
Maybe indulge in that more..you will find like Morrie,
You have lived well because you had live your life for the things that matter.

Thank you Mitch Albom for recording Morrie's last words and making it into a book.
I guess he is still a coach to many of us even after he is long gone.
Morrie is still remembered like he wanted.

A New Bud

The clouds are watching as you gaze into their white fluffy dance,
Slowly washes away the memories as you twirl your feet on the cushiony grass,
The tunes in your heart beat to the rhythm of the leaves rustling,
As you soak in the singing of the sun,
Away and away they would fly,
The bubbles of regrets into the vast universe,
The specks of hurts dropped into the deep ocean and disappear forever,
Your wings soar as the stars come by and sweep you off your nightmares,
Tambourines shake to the freedom of your soul,
On and on you swing your hips,
Letting your feet touch the silky sand
Breathing in the heavenly scent of moringa,
The new rainbow comes as you bud into a new note floating in the music of your life

A Memoir of the Apostles on Holy Saturday

Looking up to the reservoir that never runs dry,
Their hunger and thirst were filled with every waking moment,
Feeding the crowds with miracles and bread from heaven,
Their souls were replenished just by sitting at the Master’s feet

Listening intently to the Sermon on the Mount,
Their hearts never did tire or sick from following Him,
Gathering the sick and poor with sinners and righteous alike,
Their very hope and console was to be more like Him

Their one hope and source of living had gone,
Darkness and death penetrated them to the core,
They were tortured by the sudden leave and the memories,
Perhaps more so that they did not stay at the foot of the Cross

In the stillness of the night with no one in sight,
Their hearts were sickened with worry, anxiety and panic,
It felt like the thunders were rolling with never-ending earthquakes,
Even the breath of the dust were turning its back on them

They remembered the Master’s words and uncondemning smile,
His radical ways of provoking and dismissing the disguised angels,
The radiant humility of His most tender hands washing their feet,
They could not believe their weaknesses led them to leaving Him

Hiding silently behind locked doors in tapered huts,
Their future seemed so bleak or perhaps had ended,
They breathed with regrets for leaving and denying Him,
Each felt like an orphan abandoned cruelly and left to wander

The day felt like night filled with groaning and grieving,
The night felt like purging and burning within the depths of Hades,
Despair appeared naïve to the eyes of those who might know them,
Their tomorrows were hanging on a veil of unseen clouds

The followers of the Master, whom He called His brothers,
That very night were left crouching before the valleys of Sheol,
The eyes of their heart were blinded with hurts too much to see,
Little did they know the mysteries of heaven to be unmasked

May you have a blessed and Holy Saturday
Have a joyous Easter tomorrow!!

Thank you

Crushed, smashed,
Torn and broken...

His face was scarred,
Appalled by many who beheld Him...

Bruised beyond words,
His heart pierced till the very end...

Hanged on a cross,
Brutally condemmed as the worst criminal ever...

Innocent and spotless,
Purer than heaven itself...

Yet He said "Forgive them Father
For they know not what they do"

His love is beyond tears,
A love I can never grasp

I can only say
Thank you

Thank you for the Cross

His Passion

You are going to die
You are going to be handed over
You are going to be scourged
You are going to be slapped
You are going to be accused
You are going to be tortured
You are going to be stripped off your everything
You are going to be forced to carry the cross
You know it all

Tonight
You will have your last supper
You will embrace your brothers for the last time
You will be betrayed by one you truly loved
You will be accused as a criminal though you are most pure
You will suffer after tonight

Tonight
Shall be a memory forever
A supper that you nor your brothers will ever forget

Imagine if that is you?? How will you feel? One of your best friends is going to betray you...
You are going to die and you know it...

We will never fully comprehend the feelings Jesus must have gone through
We will never fully grasp the agony and pain that Jesus had gone through
If we have, we might be consumed in grief that is unbearable

But know that all these are not done in vain
He loves you so much to go through this passion
Contemplate His Passion and feel His love
Come back to Him
He loves you so much

Sarawak - April 16th

I would like to dedicate this poem that I've just written for all Sarawakians.

Sarawak,
Land of the Head-hunters,
Home of the Hornbills,
Beautiful hometown of mine and yours

April 16th,
The day that we are waiting for,
The day that we are called to vote,
The day that might change the fate of Sarawak

We have a voice,
We have our rights,
We must protect and fight,
We deserve the very best of Sarawak

Look not with our eyes
Discern with our hearts instead
Whom shall we choose
To guard and to protect our land

Those who will care for our needs
Before realizing their own wants
Those who will free the oppressed
Not filled with corruption

Wise ministers we must seek
Those with a heart to serve their people
To fulfil the word Ministry
Which means to Serve

Beloved people of Sarawak,
Arise and make a difference,
You have a choice,
Choose wisely.

Are you going weary?

Are you going weary?
Do you feel like you tried everything and everything seemed to fail?
Are you getting tired?
Do you feel like every morning you struggle to get up?
Do you feel like nothing is going to change and your life is reaching a dead end?
Do you get up each day and moved through the day like a zombie?
Do not give up my friend.
Life is too short for you to pass through it meaninglessly.
God will deliver you and bring you through it.
Keep your dreams alive as quoted by Tyler Perry.
Check out his shows. Deliciously hilarious and full of heavenly goodies!!
Don't fret. Smile.
Persevere in tribulations. Rejoice in hope. And keep praying.
God loves you!

Continue to pray for Japan and the world

I have just heard from a friend that he is safe in Japan.
It is a joy to know he and his family is doing well but at the same time,
I am filled with sadness to know he and his entire country is still grieving and mourning.
News of devastation is everywhere and the Japanese still have a lot of problems.
Let us continue to pray for Japan.
May God send his angels to bring peace and joy to Japan.

If you turn on the news channel, you will see news of chaos, terror, protests everywhere from Libya to Ivory Coast.
People are hurting everywhere and more than ever, people need prayers.
Please pray for peace, not only in war-stricken countries but peace in our hearts.
If we do not have peace in our hearts, we will never have peace in the world.

I urge you to continue to pray
May God bless you and His peace be upon you.
Shalom!

Prayer for the Unborn Child

Almighty God, our Father,
you who have given us life
and intended us to have it forever,
grant us your blessings.
Enlighten our minds to an awareness
and to a renewed conviction
that all human life is sacred
because it is created
in your image and likeness.
Help us to teach by word
and the example of our lives
that life occupies the first place,
that human life is precious
because it is the gift of God
whose love is infinite.
Give us the strength to defend human life
against every influence
or action that threatens or weakens it,
as well as the strength
to make every life more human
in all its aspects.

Give us the grace...
When the sacredness of life
before birth is attacked,
to stand up and proclaim
that no one ever has the authority
to destroy unborn life.

When a child is described as a burden
or is looked upon only as a means
to satisfy an emotional need,
to stand up
and insist that every child is a unique
and unrepeatable gift of God,
a gift of God
with a right to a loving
and united family.

When the institution of marriage
is abandoned to human selfishness
or reduced to a temporary conditional arrangement
that can easily be terminated,
to stand up and affirm
the indissolubility of the marriage bond.

When the value of the family is threatened
because of social and economic pressure,
to stand up and reaffirm
that the family is necessary
not only for the private good of every person,
but also for the common good of every society,
nation and state.

When freedom is used to dominate the weak,
to squander natural resources and energy,
to deny basic necessities to people,
to stand up and affirm
the demands of justice and social love.

Almighty Father,
give us courage to proclaim the supreme dignity
of all human life and to demand
that society itself give its protection.
We ask this in your name,
through the redemptive act
of your Son and in the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

I found this beautiful prayer from the link below
http://www.catholic.org/prayers/prayer.php?p=1125

If you, yes you, whoever you are and if you're contemplating
An abortion, please don't do it. Every life is precious and no matter
What your reasons are, that child in your womb has been created by God to live
Please don't do it.
That child of yours has a soul.
He or she deserves to live.
God bless you.

Blessed Am I, 2 April 2011

My birthday has just passed..
2 April marked the day I was born into this world
It was probably one of my quietest birthday but at the same time,
It was one of my most special birthday.
Sr. Emmanuel was here in my hometown giving a talk/retreat and I was indeed very, very blessed with what I hear on my birthday.I have always wanted to meet her after being so enlightened by her books.
She's a great messenger :)
What a great gift to be touched by God's words through her on my special day.
2 April is also a special day as I remember a few who are born on this date esp St. Dominic Savio.
His life story inspired me so much especially his courage to stand up to the truth at such a young age.
He died at a tender age of 12.
2 April is also special to me as it is the memorial of St. Francis of Paola but more so because it was the death anniversary of Blessed Pope John Paul II..his love and charisma always touched me.
What a blessing to be able to share the same special day with so many others.
I thank God from the bottom of my heart for the blessings, wishes, gifts and kind thoughts from each and every person
Who remembered my beautiful day. I pray God will shower His blessings upon you all!!
Thank you for loving me and being there for me!!
Blessed am I for all of your blessings!
I love you and I thank you.

God bless ya.

A Message from Heaven

Latest Special Medjugorje Message, April 2, 2011 - Our Lady's apparitions to Mirjana

“Dear children; With motherly love I desire to open the heart of each of you and to teach you personal unity with The Father. To accept this, you must comprehend that you are important to God and that He is calling you individually. You must comprehend that your prayer is a conversion of a child with The Father; that love is the way by which you must set out - love for God and for your neighbour. That is, my children, the love that has no boundaries, that is the love that emanates from truth and goes to the end. Follow me, my children, so that also others, in recognizing the truth and love in you, may follow you. Thank you. ”

Once again Our Lady called us to pray for our shepherds and said: They have a special place in my heart. They represent my Son.
